Sunrise is the first novel in the Chasing the Sun Duet, although all books in the Hummingbird Island world can be read as standalones. A HOT Beach romance with a guaranteed happily ever after and a steamy fake relationship, it does have some strong language and oh my, sexy times. Enjoy!

4.5 Star review of Sunrise (Chasing The Sun Duet #1) by Kaci Rose Having read a couple of books by Kaci Rose I was excited to read the Chasing The Sun duet. Sunrise is an entertaining read that will draw you in and keep you invested in the story that Ms.Rose wove about Kade and Linly (Lin). Kade is known in Hollywood as a playboy and no matter how hard he tries he cannot do the right thing. When his manager sends him to Sunrise Inn, Hummingbird Island to hide out and avoid the latest controversy, Kade is frustrated. Lin is the woman who owns and runs the Sunrise Inn and Kade is attracted to her. When they are marooned on the island thanks to a storm their attraction sizzles to life.When Kade’s mother suggests that perhaps a fake relationship he might help his reputation, he immediately thinks of Lin. Can Kade convince Lin to be his pretend girlfriend, to help repair his reputation? What will happen when fake becomes real? The friendship and banter between them was heart warming and I found myself laughing out loud on occasion. I love stories set in small towns and with such descriptive writing I could easily picture Main Street and Hummingbird Island. The secondary characters, particularly Lin’s best friend Brynn (who runs the Sunset Inn) and Jasper were easy to relate to and engaging. This is a story of love, family and friendship and ticked the boxes for me.

If you are looking for an entertaining, heartwarming, fun read look no further than Sunrise. Kade has fast become known as a Hollywood playboy and it seems what ever he does he can’t shake that image so his manager sends him to hide out for a few weeks at the Sunrise Inn on Hummingbird Island which is run and owned by Linly (Lin). Kade is instantly attracted to Lin and when a fake relationship is suggested to overcome his image Lin is the first woman who comes to mind but convincing her is to be his fake girlfriend is not going to be easy. Will Lin help Kade repair his reputation and what happens when feelings come into play..... I loved everything about this book, I laughed, I giggled, I swooned and I sighed as I found myself hoping this couple get the HEA they both deserved. The characters are adorable, their story is heartwarming and I was captivated by this wonderful read centred on love, family and friendship.

The first book in the Chasing The Sun Duet series a story with a very good storyline that is well written the story flowed smoothly across the pages. Linly/Lin who owns the Sunrise Inn in North Carolina gets a call that Kade Markson a movie star will be leasing the Inn for two weeks, and that no one is to know he is there. He is laying low after the tabloids ran a story that was not true. I enjoyed seeing their story come together, the story was well worth reading. I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
